3 Good Things Vol. 14 (09/08/26)

On Sundays, I like to share three things I have enjoyed in the past week. They could be anything; just stuff that has, as Marie Kondo might say, sparked joy. They also don’t have to be new or recent, so long as I’ve enjoyed them this week.

Thing 1: Rediscovering Creative Uncut

I needed some video game art for something the other day. I knew broadly what I needed, but not specifically where to find it. In searching, I rediscovered an old favourite site, about which I had long forgotten, Creative Uncut.

This site is an archive of video game artwork. I think that people who are not really into games are often unaware of the quality of concept, character, and promotional art that go along with some of the titles.

Going back through some of the galleries on this site is an absolute joy.

Thing 2: The Final My Hero Academia Epilogue

This week saw another short epilogue added to My Hero Academia. This one featured Eri, several years after the events of the series, singing in public for the first time.

The song is a familiar one:

It’s actually a really perfect ending. It’s minimal, it’s simple, it’s fun.

Shut up. I’m not crying. You’re crying.

Thing 3: Getting Back to Painting

Having not painted for months, I was definitely in a bit of a slump. In July, I managed to do a handful of RPG miniatures to break this slump. That felt good.

In August, I’ve pushed further and have blitzed through a ton more food-themed RPG miniatures. You can see one at the top of this page, and this one is probably my favourite:

I have nine blog posts queued up over the next few weeks at NoRerolls with the completed miniatures. As of today, two have already been posted.

It feels good to be back into this!
