On Sundays, I like to share three things I have enjoyed in the past week. They could be anything; just stuff that has, as Marie Kondo might say, sparked joy. They also don’t have to be new or recent, so long as I’ve enjoyed them this week.

Thing 1: Rewatching Penny Arcade’s Strip Search

I liked PATV back when Penny Arcade first launched it. I enjoyed getting an insight into their office and having a slightly parasocial relationship with some of the people therein.

The best thing they did was their reality show, Strip Search. Originally, Mike Krahulik pitched it as “America’s Next Top Webcartoonist.” That actually pretty much captures the vibe.

I think the show did well in employing the tropes of reality TV shows to make a really fun experience that exists at the intersection of art and personality.

I also love that Kris Straub features in it. I’ve always been a massive fan of him and his work. Oh, and Erika Moen! She’s fabulous.

Thing 2: Society of Caithness Artists, 2026 Exhibition

The Society of Caithness artists are currently in the midst of their annual exhibition of members’ work.

It’s always a great show, and King Charles has previously submitted some of his own works for the show, given his long association with Caithness.  I’m pretty sure he won’t be in it this year, but it’s still cool to mention!

Thing 3: Rennie’s Makes a Chewing Gum

It’s so sad that this is a good thing for me, but it really is. A lot of reflux and heartburn at the moment…

I saw this advertised for the first time recently, and it caught my attention:

It seems that it hit the UK market in April 2026, so it’s not been around long. I’ll need to grab some and see if it helps.

Look, just because it’s a good thing doesn’t mean it’s not a bleak thing from some angles. Everything is relative, I guess.
